I love styling and design. It is a passion of my, as well as photography of course. I have been meaning to put this love to good use to collaborate with some other talented people and see what we could come up with.

My friend Debbie, a talented event planner, and I got together to come up with a few themes and ideas for photoshoots. We came up with lots of fun and exciting ideas, so stay tuned for those. Our first theme that we came up with was muted colours & blush tones. We love these colours, and wanted to see how we could do it in a modern and elegant way.

This was our original inspiration board:

Muted colours & grey. Thank you to all of the wonderful talent who put their time and energy into this shoot.

I am a city girl, born and raised. I honestly don’t think I could ever do the small town thing, although to be fair I have never tried. I like to be in a city and have a bit of hustle and bustle around me. With that being said though, I do like to get out of the city every few months and have a break. Several times a year we venture away from the big city and go back to Tim’s roots in small town Saskatchewan.

Tim grew up in a town of 1,000 people that is an hour and a half from the closest city. A farming community called Gravelbourg. Ironically, my Dad grew up in the same town, where his parents still reside. My Mom grew up in an even smaller town nearby called Ferland, which I don’t believe is even a town anymore as only a handful of people live there. Most of Tim and My’s extended families still live there. We make the 6 hour trek out there 5-6 times per year, and it is a nice holiday from home. It is such a holiday that my cell phone loses service and hour and a half before Gravelbourg, because there are no cell towers for my service provider. So it is a holiday from everything for me! No email, no facebook, no phone calls, no texts, NADA! A nice escape.

Here are a few images that I took while going for a walk around the town (1 mile around), with my sister-in-law over Easter.

Brandis (05.17.11): beautiful! it makes me want to escape there too :)

A few times a month I like to go out and photograph for myself, just for fun to keep the creativity flowing.  Chelsea and I decided instead of getting models for our next just for fun photoshoot, that we would style each other.

For Chelsea I envisioned some old jeans, a white tank top, barefoot, with some window light. I also did her makeup, just a soft natural looking smokey eye to highlight her gorgeous green eyes. Funny enough, when I told Chelsea my vision for her shoot, she said that she has always wanted to do a barefoot and relaxed photo shoot. So voila!

Love you friend! xoxo, C.

Jenna-Marie (04.14.11): Great photos! Chelsea you look gorgeous :)

Geoff Ball (04.14.11): Very nice, Chantal!
